Jaguar Land Rover have a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Solution Engineer to join the growing Enterprise Data Solutions team within the IT department. 

Enterprise Data Solutions are responsible for Data and Analytics platforms in Jaguar Land Rover, primarily the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and datalake. The team are responsible for the ingest of data from Jaguar Landrover source systems to the GCP data lake and the data engineering, curation, cataloguing and access control of business ready data sets for use by the Enterprise.

As the Solution Engineer you’ll be responsible for working to specific accountabilities as part of a product development team working on feature releases. You’ll have in depth experience of selected software which you’ll use in proving, creating and deploying product features. 

You’ll be familiar with the use of DevOps / SDLC tooling and will apply continuous test and deployment approaches in your work. Collaborating with other engineers in delivery of POCs, pilots and product releases. Also responsible for the delivery of specific business requested data projects that then also serve as re-useable data assets in the EDW for other initiatives. 


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities to include:


•    Lead/contribute to specific projects building the Enterprise Data Warehouse/Hub Product
•    Contribute to development of product releases and functionality components as part of a product team
•    Translate high level business requirements for Enterprise Data into solution design within the agreed product architecture, with the support of Senior Engineer and Product Designer input
•    Develop, test and maintain developments as dictated by project requirements
•    Participate in or lead Proofs of Concept and assess their viability, to support Minimal Viable Product (MVP) development as part of an agile customer development process 
•    Evaluate and provide feedback on available and emerging technologies to determine the potential impacts and business value to existing and new products/features
•    Coordinate beta testing of new products and features. Document and report problems and recommend solutions/improvements to program managers
•    Participate in product performance benchmarking activities
•    Support the development and maintenance of various technical collateral including application notes, FAQs, product notes, user guides, training presentations and demos
•    Support the Product Designer in validating value proposition and fit to requirements of products and services being formulated
•    Maintain current understanding of relevant technologies and how these may impact in-flight innovation initiatives
•    Contribute to the development and maintenance of reference architecture and design pattern documentation for products and platforms. Maintain product documentation through development using agile toolset
•    Perform solution options analysis under supervision of the Product Designer 



As the Solutions Engineer you’ll be fluent in SQL and have strong experience of Cloud Data Warehouse environments i.e. GCP, Snowflake, AWS, Azure.


Applications are welcomed from individuals who have advanced knowledge of Data Integration tools e.g. Qlik Replicate, or HVR, DBT, Matillion.


Extensive knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouse and Data Modelling principles is also a key requirement for this role.
