As the Stamping & Tooling lead engineer, you will report to the Forward Programme Planning Manager and will steer and influence product designs and engineering. You will develop viable business solutions and generate initial programme inputs, while liaising with the wider GME Stamping organisation and the other functions within the Body-In-White Enterprise i.e. Design Studio, Product Engineering, GME, MP&L and Procurement.
WHAT TO EXPECT
You will act as the programme interface for Product Engineering & Design during the early phases of the product creation and provide initial concept feasibility support for the Design Studios and Product Engineering, prior to the Feasibility and Process Engineering team’s engagement.
Here’s what to expect:
• Acting as the point of contact for all technical enquiries from JLR Design, Product Engineering & Engineering Service Providers, on all new programmes, providing an initial feasibility response on behalf of GME Stamping
• Provide status to programme planner of Design and Product Engineering CAD progression and part feasibility
• Outline of initial concept processes and blank material for costing and RFQ purposes (details to be maintained within parts feasibility tracker document)
• Arrange and conduct feasibility gateway events (F Events), as per EQAP+ procedure
• Ability to generate geometry modification requests (through e-Trackers, FCR’s, JIRA and AIM’s systems) to control and record feasibility requirements
• In collaboration with the Technical Specialists, support investigations to drive optimum business solutions to deliver programme targets for CAPEX, Quality, Material and Performance

• Comprehensive understanding of Stamping Forming guidelines & principles (BoD & BoP)
