THE OPPORTUNITY

 

The role will be based within the Electrical & Vehicle Engineering (EVE) Centre Of Competence, and part of attribute team based within the Assisted & Automated Driving (AAD) Feature and System Team.

 

The Features and system team is an exciting area, designing and delivering new AAD features through definition of the customer experiences, design of the system and validation and confirmation the design meets the customer intent.

 

The Role is to define and create the associated system architecture documentation within Jaguar Land Rover to support the creation Assisted and Automated Driving features including successful integration into the vehicle network and system of systems.  

 

The role includes the opportunity to design and define the way in which Assisted and Automated Driving Features can support our customers in their every day journeys, through a combination of driving aids, driving assistance and driving automation. The role will require a customer focussed individual who can support the development of Assisted and Automated Driving Systems through the traditional development V Cycle. Supporting the creation of model based engineering artifacts coupled with associated sign off and validation and verification plan to support JLR’s vision of Zero Road Traffic Incidents.  

 

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Incorporate customer use cases into a functional architecture library ​
  • Assess design impact of introducing a new feature/technology using functional architecture models (implementation agnostic)​
  • Assess design impact of introducing/enhancing a feature/technology using the functional architecture library​
  • Develop and maintain functional architecture models at feature level (LAD, Logical Architecture Diagrams) and link to the full functional vehicle architecture model​
  • Lead the allocation of functional architecture models (LADs) into system architecture design (SAD)​
  • Develop and maintain the interface control database for the system architecture design​
  • Support system integration, Use Case Owners and test engineers to define test plans and test cases for virtual and physical environments ​
  • Lead the execution of the interface failure analysis​​
  • Creation of the API's between Use Case Owners for Functions outside of the direct model.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Essential 

  • The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and a strategic thinker.​
  • Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering​
  • Knowledge of Customer Quality Process and Metrics
  • Excellent communicator and the ability to present technical ideas and issues to all levels of the company.
  • Ability to author and review requirements either through a model or throughts requirements defined in a structured format such as EARS.
  • In depth knowledge of Assisted and Automated driving systems
  • Working knowledge of the Mathworks toolchain and the creation of modelling artifacts within the mathworks tools.
  • The ability to perform objective assessment of a system and log data from a vehicle network.
  • Working knowledge of different vehicle network technologies and the advantages of each network.
  • Working knowledge of frame packing and ordering of bytes to support the creation of a vehicle network.
  • The ability to use data to rationalise decision making associated with the vehicle architecture and perform trade off analysis.

 

Desirable:

 

  • Working knowledge of Customer Quality Process and Metrics
  • Knowledge of Virtual Validation including Driving Simulators would be advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of Agile Working Practices.
  • Working Experience of AGILE methods
