The Opportunity


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled, technical software specialist in our Systems & Software Capability team in Chassis & Vehicle Motion Control Systems, based in Gaydon. The software specialist will be responsible for leading a core capability team that will define new software platforms, ways of working, processes and qualified tools for software intensive, safety critical, control systems.


You will be custodian of our core software capability for current projects and will lead a team defining and developing strategy, processes and platforms for our Autonomous, Connected, Electric and Shared architecture of the future.


The Chassis and Motion Control Systems department design, develop and formalize software intensive systems that deliver the functional requirements of the vehicle programmes. You will be responsible for the creation and adherence of the delivery teams to safety & quality engineering processes.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities


  • Responsible for the line management of a team, including; setting objectives, measuring and managing performance, professional development including appraisals and other reviews
  • Building and maintaining relationships with project and stakeholder interfaces. These relationships will include Chassis and Motion Control Systems delivery teams and wider Jaguar Landrover software project and quality teams.
  • Developing, maintaining and managing project estimates



What you’ll need



  • Experience of working with software control systems or similar complex systems
  • Engineering or Programme Management Degree or recognised relevant experience through professional development
  • Experience in leading projects across a range of Engineering Quality processes
  • Experience in delivering programme and change management activites, ensuring high quality software



  • Experience in developing safety-critical software (i.e. compliance with ISO26262, DO-178, etc)
  • Prior knowledge/experience managing software Quality Management Systems
