Technology Vendor Management is the strategic governance of technology product and service vendors who underpin capabilities enabling the achievement of organisational objectives and strategy. 


As the Vendor Management Lead you’ll manage the performance and relationships of a number of strategic IT Vendors across the IT lifecycle, driving value, innovation and continuous improvement.


Supporting the development and maintenance of relationships between strategically significant IT vendors and internal stakeholders (IT, business customers and leadership). Ensuring all parties understand and are aligned on Business/IT outcomes and ways of working; and assisting IT vendors in their efforts to be successful. The Vendor Management Lead may also be required to provide a full range of Vendor Management engagements with nominated vendors.


Key accountabilities and responsibilities to include:


•    Facilitate core relationship activities for our key suppliers; these include account planning, performance reporting and risk coordination, contract obligations tracking and operational finance ensuring a consistent approach.
•    Adhere to Vendor Management standards and processes defined in JLR Way
•    Implement and monitor Vendor Management Governance Programme disciplines through lifecycle of supplier engagement (across one or more engagements)
•    Facilitate contract review meetings to ensure delivery against objectives and contract budgets. Produce regular reporting on contract milestones.
•    Administer the commercial and financial arrangements and processes including the contract change control process.
•    Facilitate vendor performance reviews and reporting with Vendor Management Leadership and key stakeholders.
•    Manage and measure performance of the overall relationship between internal customers and vendors. 
•    Collate and analyse performance data and identify key trends. 
•    Identify opportunities for performance improvements, including benchmarking to best market practices and cost, SLA and OLA tracking. 
•    Be a point of contact for assigned vendors and follow rights of authority for decision making. 
•    Facilitate escalation and arbitration of vendor relationship and operational issues (including initial handling of internal and business contract related complaints or disagreements)
•    Active management of Vendor Risk including: identification and analysis of supply chain risks, commercial implications, developing mitigations, and escalation as appropriate.




Applications are welcomed from individuals who have demonstrable experience of coordinating IT contracts execution and facilitating complex vendor relationships with a record for delivering value for money.


Strong organisation and process management skills are the foundation of the IT vendor Management Lead’s job. Coupled with strong business acumen and the ability to understand commercial and operational risk and promote decisions that deliver the best outcomes for JLR.


Strong analytical skills are required, in particular, an understanding of statistics and a proficiency in Excel. User of data visualisation tools is highly desired.


Good communication and presentation skills to translate supply chain related topics for management and operational teams.
