eCommerce Product Owner

Overview:

An exciting opportunity for an E-Commerce Product Owner to support the creation, development and operation of a modern luxury customer experience within our North American market, as part of a Global and Strategic Digital Transformation program.

 

Working within an agile, value stream driven environment, you will collaborate with key senior business stakeholders (in market and globally) to understand aspirations and objectives. You will then take responsibility of backlog creation and prioritization, defining scope, facilitating sizing, sprint planning and sprint execution processes. You will ensure that all work being carried out aligns with the commercial objectives of the business; coordinated with multiple global regions as part of a Global Product Initiative. This role reports directly to the Digital Innovation Manager.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Being the North American subject matter expert of the global eCommerce platform, understanding capabilities and associated commercial value

  • Working with JLR stakeholders/agencies, identifying processes, capabilities and opportunities to enhance and evolve the solution (locally and globally) – driving value while delivering a modern luxury experience for our customers

  • Scoping the above to understand complexity, scale and outline business value

  • Supporting the development, prioritization and management of a global roadmap, representing the North American Market

  • Managing the creation of Epics and User Stories, aligning where necessary with business and technical subject matter experts e.g., Sales, Marketing, Finance, Technical Leads, etc.

  • Providing clarity to Development teams – where necessary ensuring the relevant SMEs understand the development process and bridging the Technical/Business worlds

  • Acting as the key interface between the external development agency and internal JLR stakeholders – ensuring clear communication channels and managing any dependencies that may exist

  • Creating and managing a North American backlog, aligned and coordinated with Global backlogs/roadmaps

  • Ensuring that all requirements associated with a Definition of Ready are available prior to sprint planning e.g., UI/UX, technical architecture, business requirements, etc.;

  • Prioritizing the North American development backlog aligned with business objectives – ensuring visibility and alignment with global programs as appropriate

  • Signing off on the delivery of User Stories (or facilitating where appropriate), ensuring supporting activities are undertaken in line with the deployment process e.g., legal sign off, supporting content changes, highlighting training requirements, etc.

  • Ensuring that once delivered, commercial objectives associated with the delivery of an Epic / User Story are captured – measuring return on investment and sharing the insights within internal stakeholder groups through KPIs

  • Providing visibility of the short, medium, and long-term roadmap to local and global stakeholders

  • Challenging business stakeholders in the operation/performance of the platform

  • Working with JLR’s Conversion Rate Optimization Team to identify areas of commercial opportunity / implement findings that may result from AB Tests (through the backlog)

  • Creation and ownership of regular business reports and dashboards using internal tools to provide insight on website performance, funnels, customer journeys and online behaviors to identify areas of high revenue opportunity

  • Attend, support and contribute to stakeholder meetings, including presenting results, conclusions and recommendations

  • Has acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges

  • Perform other duties as required

 

What you will need:

  • Knowledge of eCommerce platforms, processes and technologies; Certification in Salesforce Commerce Cloud required; Experience having developed, launched, and/or owned at least one Salesforce-based commerce product

  • Automotive experience strongly preferred

  • Extensive experience using Agile Methodologies, approaches, tools and techniques in a Product environment

  • Experience of process mapping / process improvement

  • An understanding of Analytical software e.g. Google Analytics, using supporting data to help drive prioritization and business context

  • Experience with testing and experimentation such as A/B, multivariate and personalization tests which inform further optimization and maximize revenue

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with strong attention to detail

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems or General Business or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years professional experience with a focus on product management, digital retailing, omni-channel retailing or similar
