Communications Officer

Grade C, local Nitra

Salary:  From 1434 eur monthly, 13th salary, 0-15% yearly bonus, other benefits according JLR rules

 

OPPORTUNITY

 

The Nitra Manufacturing plant forms a central part of Jaguar Land Rover growth strategy and has an important role in positioning Jaguar Land Rover as one of the leading automotive manufacturers and employers.

Employees communications has a critical role to play within manufacturing. Effective communications can have a direct impact on engagement, productivity and quality.

 

The Communications officer role is dedicated to delivering consistent, quality and timely communications using a variety of communications channels, with special focus on visual communication tools and community events. The role will involve owning all core communication channels, internally and externally including the weekly Team Talk newsletter, digital TV screens, creating visual content for them and managing business critical employee briefs for the Nitra manufacturing centre. A solid level understanding of internal communications channels and measurement, including working knowledge and experience of software tools such as Poppulo, is needed. The Communications Officer reports to the Nitra Corporate Affairs Manager providing dedicated support to deliver the communications strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Employee communications

  • Delivery of film, photography and graphic assets to support plant communications: weekly e-newsletter, employee briefs, digital screens, noticeboards. Most of the communication materials are bilingual (Slovak and English); film assets include filming on camera, cutting the footage and prepare subtitles.
  • Creation of scenarios, story boards and inputs for films
  • Co-ordination of employee communication and engagement activities: organize or provide technical support for Milestone events, Town Halls, new model launches, tactical plant campaigns.
  • Coordinate plant tours and visits and other third party activities.
  • Auditing the impact of employee communications and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop opportunities to enhance and improve existing communications channels.
  • Support the central internal communications team in the development and deployment of an all employee communications strategy.
  • Work with the wider Internal Communications team to develop, collate and identify compelling stories and features and elevate across all channels in line with our strategy and transformation
  • Management of local social media channels – Facebook, LinkedIn
  • Support the creation and delivery of JLR Nitra wide digital employee communications campaigns
  • Use data and metrics to report and provide feedback on engagement good practice

 

Community Engagement Projects

 

  • Ensure implementation of community programmes and projects like Employee Grant Programme, volunteering initiatives, community events

 

CANDIDATE

 

Essential:

  • Excellent communication skills – both spoken and written, Slovak and English 
  • Must be able to produce communications which is relevant and comprehendible for all levels of the company
  • Able to negotiate and influence across the organisation 
  • Strong ability to organise self, and prioritise workload in order to meet tight deadlines 
  • A good level of IT competence is required in programmes such as Excel, Word and Power Point and Poppulo
  • A good level of IT competence is required in programmes such as Adobe Premiere and Photoshop 
  • A good level of competence with tools to generate engaging and informative contact such as digital cameras and audio visual setups.
  • 3+ years Communications experience 
  • Ability to identify good stories from across the business 
  • Full driving licence 

 

Desirable:

  • Working in stand-alone communications role with large organisation and/or a diverse customer group 
  • PR/digital/advertising agency Experienced in events management 
  • Automotive or manufacturing environment experience is advantage but not a must
