THE OPPORTUNITY
The expansion of Jaguar Land Rover’s Nitra facility with a new Body‑in‑White building creates a unique opportunity for a highly capable Soft Services & Environmental Engineer to shape the operational foundations of a world‑class manufacturing environment. This role sits at the intersection of facility readiness, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence, offering the chance to influence how a new production asset is prepared, commissioned, and transitioned into stable operation.
WHAT TO EXPECT
• Conduct internal audits across soft‑services and environmental areas to ensure compliance with JLR standards, legal requirements, and contractor obligations.
• Lead or support structured problem‑solving activities, including 8D investigations, to address service failures, environmental deviations, or operational incidents.
• Communicate with key soft‑services suppliers, including catering, workwear, transportation, waste management, and cleaning service providers, ensuring performance alignment and timely issue resolution.
• Analyse operational data, including workwear distribution matrices and xBUS data, to identify optimisation opportunities, cost efficiencies, and service improvements.
• Prepare regular reports and presentations summarising performance, risks, incidents, and improvement actions for internal stakeholders.
• Supervise new projects such as BIW 2 and MP&L extension from a Soft Services and Environmental perspective, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and integration of soft‑services requirements.
• Support commissioning, validation, and handover activities to ensure the new BIW building meets operational, environmental, and service‑readiness requirements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (HSE, Facilities, Operations, Engineering, Construction) to ensure consistent standards and smooth project execution.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to SLAs, KPIs, and environmental commitments.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, sustainability enhancements, and cost‑effective service delivery.
WHAT YOU´LL NEED
• Minimum 2 years of experience in facilities management, soft services, environmental engineering, or a related operational/technical field.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) for daily communication, reporting, and supplier coordination.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, waste management principles, and compliance requirements.
• Experience working with contractors and external service providers, including performance management and issue resolution.
• Ability to analyse operational data and identify optimisation opportunities.
• Good understanding of soft‑services operations (cleaning, catering, workwear, waste, shuttle busses).
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills across internal teams and external suppliers.
• Competence in structured problem‑solving methods (e.g., 8D, root‑cause analysis).
• Ability to work in a dynamic project environment and support new facility integration
• Solid organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple service streams.
