THE OPPORTUNITY
Responsible for leading the development, update and implementation control specifications and standards for manufacturing equipment and systems, ensuring integrated IT solutions and machinery safety. This includes mechanical, electrical, programmable logic controller software (PLC’s) and robot programming software development
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Lead Launch Delivery – Plan and execute flawless product and equipment launches
- Develop Processes & Tooling – To help with design and implement assembly processes, tooling, and automation aligned with BOP and HSE requirements
- Commission Equipment – Validate new and modified facilities to meet performance and JLR quality standards
- Drive Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, and Programme teams
- Lead Change & Integration – Support introduction of new technologies and adapt facilities accordingly
- Coaching & Team Development – Mentor engineers and support capability growth within the team
- Stakeholder & Supplier Management – Manage suppliers and internal stakeholders to meet project KPIs and launch targetsLead Launch Delivery – Plan and execute flawless product and equipment launches
WHAT YOU´LL NEED
- Strong Manufacturing Engineering Expertise – Proven experience with facilities, tools, and productivity‑focused manufacturing methods
- Advanced PLC Programming Skills – Strong experience with PLC systems (Rockwell, Siemens, or equivalent), including debugging, modification, and commissioning.
- Team Leadership Experience – Ability to lead, develop, and manage engineering teams in a manufacturing environment
- Advanced Problem‑Solving Skills – Strong application of structured problem‑solving methodologies for complex technical issues
- Health & Safety & Ergonomics Knowledge – Solid understanding of H&S audits, ergonomics, and risk assessment practices
- Proficiency in Engineering Tools – Skilled in PFMEA, Control Plans, and Design for Assembly principles
- High Computer Literacy – Confident user of engineering software and program management systems
- Ability to Work Under Pressure – Capable of delivering key objectives independently in demanding conditions
