WHAT TO EXPECT


The Freight Operations Group department covers Inbound Freight, Packaging and Finished Vehicle Distribution. This role will support Inbound Freight and Packaging by managing the delivery of major Packaging projects. The Inbound Freight Packaging Analyst will play a vital role in delivering International Vehicle and Powertrain Programmes to support JLR’s plans for increased volume, product range and globalisation.


•    Project manage service providers to develop innovative solutions to optimize the supply chain. for international vehicle and powertrain programmes ensuring delivery against all programme milestones.
•    Support the creation of packaging standards and guidelines.
•    Support on sustainability targets, reducing waste where possible and implementing circular economy.
•    Participate in packaging concept and prototype buy offs.
•    Manage packaging deliveries to supply base.
•    Develop packaging strategies for shipping product overseas through data analysis, competitor benchmarking and strategic packaging trials.
•    Coordinate resolution of packaging issues providing containment and long term solutions. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED


Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills you'll need to have to help you succeed here, including:


•    Past freight/packaging/logistics experience is desirable
•    Understanding of Supply Chain Operations working processes/practices
•    Good analytical skills and statistical ability
•    Experience or knowledge of project management and process improvement
•    Experience of packaging design/manufacturing
•    Experience of packaging data management

 

This role requires frequent travel across JLR site locations UK and Europe and the ability to work specific locations for set periods, often on short notice (Halewood, Solihull, EPMC, BAC, DC7, Castle Bromwich and Nitra).
