At JLR we are embarking on unfolding and embedding a new Organisational Purpose, whilst shaping our culture to support. This role will be critical in helping us to develop the skills and mindset that our leaders in Solihull will need to create a culture where people love coming to work, to Live the Exceptional with Soul.
This exciting opportunity is right at the heart of our development intentions in the Solihull plant. We need an eager and motivated leadership development professional with experience of creating and delivering impactful content and facilitating sessions that can transform the mindset and behaviours of our leaders. The individual will be a key member of the People Transformation Team within the Site strategy and Transformation department. In this role, the individual will be tasked to support building leadership capability and other essential skills, create change and contribute to building a supportive culture of achievement and developing colleague engagement, in alignment with the global JLR strategy, initiative already existing within this area and with the central Leadership development squad, L&D Academy and other relevant stakeholders.
About 50% of the workload for this role will be focused on delivery: facilitation of workshops, team development circles, on the job shadowing and coaching and other relevant leader development activities. The rest will be dedicated to content building, stakeholder management, contract management with external providers and program management.
WHAT TO EXPECT
As the Leadership Development Lead, you'll:
• Understand the broader context of the cultural transformation JLR are on and develop an aligned leadership development approach for Solihull.
• Work in partnership to design, develop and deliver development programmes for leaders across all leadership levels in Solihull either directly, or through third parties (within JLR or outside of JLR).
• Deliver a coherent learning experience for all leadership levels in Solihull, including executive leaders (LL4+).
• Cross functional working with global JLR stakeholders to align Solihull leadership development initiatives with the delivery of global corporate leadership development programmes.
• Support the implementation of a sustainable leadership offering that not only helps transform current capability but also aligns new starters into the organisation with the appropriate development.
• Contribute to the future redesign of some of the ongoing interventions for Solihull leaders (e.g. Group Leader Academy, Production Leader Academy, their equivalent for Maintenance, Group leaders development, Production leaders development, etc.), in collaboration with key stakeholders in this field.
• Project management: coordinate program activities, internal and external resource (external provider), manage budget of the program.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
• Proven track record and experience with delivering and facilitating workshops for leaders: from first line leaders to senior leadership team.
• Previous leadership development experience.
• Ability to interact with and challenge leadership behaviours during development sessions, incl. senior executive leaders.
• Credible with the ability to inspire confidence and to influence at senior level.
• Highly confident communication and interpersonal skills, ability to use these for stakeholders management and presentations.
• Ability to transform the lessons learned from the delivery of leader development activities into the design of future activities.
• Takes initiative and proposes new ways of doing things: ready to spot opportunities to improve and change how we do things.
