JOB TITLE: Senior Maintenance Leader - LOC  
SALARY: £43,000 - £48,000

This role will be responsible for the development and implementation of the LOC maintenance strategy, aligned to the Manufacturing maintenance strategy.  In your role you will support the delivery of the LOC through installation / commissioning and launch phases ensuring maintenance capability is delivered.  Post job #1 you will provide maintenance leadership to the Operations team.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities


  • Develop and deliver a maintenance strategy that is focused on preventative / proactive maintenance principles
  • Developing and implementing a maintenance operating system to ensure equipment availability targets are delivered.
  • Comply to Health and Safety procedures by ensuring all safety metrics are achieved, including identifying safety hazards and risks and ensuring corrective action implemented and ensures the team receive appropriate training  
  • Support and maintain the area staffing and ensure it is within operational constraints to achieve operational targets
  • Lead the team to carry out running checks and repairs, as well as the planned preventative maintenance programme (PPM)
  • Deliver innovative predictive maintenance strategies to reduce operational support requirements
  • Day to day management of all equipment and responsibility for automation projects (maintaining and improving)
  • Develop reliability growth plans to ensure equipment uptime is met in line with installed design Technical Availability
  • Produce continuous improvement plans while continually improving maintenance methods
  • Develop the capability of the maintenance team, focusing on the development of educational/training plans for maintenance personnel including delivery of a technical, safety and process training program
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested





  • Extensive knowledge of maintenance operations
  • Demonstrable leadership qualities and agility / flexibility
  • Experience in the development and delivery of maintenance strategies
  • Previous experience in similar role including experience of supervising maintenance operational teams to meet production targets in Manufacturing 
  • Ability to lead and drive their team in the application of a maintenance operating system to deliver expected performance
  • Technical (mechanical and electrical) automotive engineering skills, ideally in a large, automated environment
  • Experience of specifying and installing new automation to realise productivity targets
  • Experience of Environmental controls and practices
  • Demonstrable experience in the application of a logical approach to Problem Solving 




  • Knowledge of health and safety processes
  • Knowledge of Quality Operating Systems procedures & deliverables
  • Demonstrable experience in the application of a logical approach to Problem Solving 
  • Understanding and Application of Lean Tools and Techniques
  • Experience working in a fast paced manufacturing environment
