The successful launch of new products into our Solihull Plant is critically important to the overall success of JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) and the delivery of our Reimagine Strategy.

 

A flawless launch of programmes such as Jaguar Electric Architect (JEA) and Modular Longitudinal Architect (MLA) will give the company confidence in Solihull’s ability to deliver to our commitments. To do this, it is important that we have engaged and committed employees across Solihull and particularly in our Technical Coach roles.

 

The role of a Technical Coach is to support the implementation of new model launch activities through working closely with the Manufacturing and Engineering teams. Ensuring our Creators Code is demonstrated to achieve all KPI’s.

 

There is a level of flexibility that is expected from the Technical Coach role to suit programme delivery, this could include working extended and non-standard hours, as well as supporting shifts within the production areas at short notice (adhering to working regulations). Managers will seek to plan as much as possible to avoid lack of notice, e.g., later start/finish times. Between 24- & 48-hours’ notice will be given where practicable of any shift change requirements. 

 

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

You'll actively support process, product and facility design and function review processes, in Solihull and at other locations, actively assisting and advising on the designs and functions, providing valuable, data driven, plant-based input and ensuring plant deliverables and expectations are communicated, understood and delivered as well as this you'll:

 

•    Working with Engineering department (JLR and Contractor), to raise, track and report issues, Snags or CCAR’s, through all online build phases and buy off events and support actions arising from build issues
•    Support the launch build phases and / or Production as required
•    Adhere fully to the Safety-First Business Procedures
•    Facilitate / Lead the required training of the new equipment and processes, to relevant operational personnel
•    Implementation of IPS and lean manufacturing techniques, group problem solving and the establishment and writing of process sheets – Method statements, schedules, risk assessments, ergonomic assessments, Rapid upper limb assessments, etc
•    Be a highly skilled maintenance technician, with a relevant indentured or Advanced modern apprenticeship. You’ll have a thorough understanding of maintenance practices within BIW

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED 

 

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills you'll need to have to help you succeed here, including:

 

•    Hands-on problem-solving experience
•    Effective communication skills
•    Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
•    Ability to work off-site, including overseas & Flexibility with working hours
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Presentation skills
•    Basic understanding of Agile ways of working and Jira user
•    Relevant indentured or advanced modern apprenticeship
•    Good knowledge of ABB robots, PLC’s, communication protocols and safety BUS systems

 

UK Driving License is required for this role.
