WHAT TO EXPECT
We are seeking a lead engineer to support the development of innovative future propulsion systems and technologies. Working in the Powerpack Innovation organisation and interfacing with a broad stakeholder group across the business, the role will ensure that the propulsion systems of the future deliver on the customer and business objectives, and that the right technologies in the Technology Roadmap are being developed to a Concept Ready state before inclusion in the cycle plan.
You will identify propulsions systems and technology opportunities through benchmarking and capturing through the innovation hopper process. You will ensure the definition of Research/Advanced Engineering projects and ensure they are aligned to the Domain vision. You will work in an agile matrix structure alongside other research/advanced engineering leads within Powertrain ensuring that appropriate technology development plans are in place.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Experience and knowledge in the field of relevant Electrified Propulsion System technologies, with technical and development experience
- Understanding of system interactions and ability to balance requirements between sub-systems
- Ability to balance engineering attributes and commercial implications of technology selection
- Familiarity with the spirit of Technology Creation Development System [TCDS] or equivalent research/advanced engineering delivery process which could be delivered via Agile Groups / Squads
- Highly organised, disciplined, flexible and self-starting
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable:
- A working knowledge of electrical systems
- Development process experience
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies

Experience with CAD and Propulsion System CAE toolsets
