The Infrastructure and Technical Development Team within the DAG is a centralised group supporting the whole department with their infrastructure and custom tool requirements. It is responsible for the management, centralised coordination, and delivery of; maintenance, upgrading and implementation to all existing and new infrastructure requirements. Specialist support in development and delivery of custom tools and capability (i.e. programmed tools/scripts/functionality in CGI software), to the requirement and definition of the delivery teams to aid their working CGI pipelines and processes with added automation and optimisation.

As the manager of the Infrastructure and Technical Development Team, you will be responsible for the full scope of activities undertaken by the team, working in close alignment with the internal PMO, delivery teams, local management and supporting business functions (i.e. Finance, Purchasing, IT). Maintaining and nurturing all key stakeholder and customer relationships and contributing to the overall strategic development and delivery of the department.

The manager will be required to continually direct their team in developing our capabilities and toolsets, aligned to wider core business and departmental transformation and strategic imperatives. Driving positive change across our activities, ensuring maximised operational effectiveness and efficiency, and a first-class service and experience for our customers and stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Accountability for the set-up and management of the Infrastructure and Technical Development team to ensure successful delivery of services across the DAG Department
  • Provide overall leadership for the team offering general support on development projects in several areas; governance, reporting, assurance processes, to support budgeting in the DAG PMO team
  • Responsible for requested digital tool development and hardware/software coordination
  • Interfaces regularly with PMO and customer Teams to prioritise local backlog
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and ways of working on activities across all department delivery teams and define best practice

Knowledge, Skills and Experience


  • Previous experience of managing teams
  • Previous experience of Technical Infrastructure management
  • Previous experience of CGI Technical Development management
  • Transformation and change management experience
  • Credibility and ability to influence others at all levels
  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred
