JOB TITLE: Engineer - Propulsion Controls
SALARY: £33,400 - £44,100 + bonus + increased working week incentive
LOCATION: Warwickshire

Our cutting-edge Propulsion systems are rapidly changing to embrace electrification and digital technology.  To support this our inclusive team operates with an agile mindset to rapidly deliver great innovation for our customers.


Within the Controls Integration team, you will ensure that the latest Propulsion software and calibration is fully capable and robust before it is released.   You will define and deploy improved processes and tools for the Propulsion software teams to cover all aspects of system delivery from Requirements to Verification.  This involves close collaboration with other Integration teams such as Electrical and ADAS to optimise the ways of working across Engineering.




 Key Performance Indicators


  • The process and supporting tool chain for Control System Integration is documented and easily understood as part of the Propulsion Body of Knowledge.
  • Propulsion software teams are following the process and are able to feedback improvement ideas.
  • Metric reports are available with clear actions.
  • Development teams are supported to understand and implement process improvements.
  • Lessons learned are fed back into development process for continuous improvement.
  • Clear, effective communication at all levels of business.
  • Powertrain/Propulsion Module Lead Engineers
  • Central Tools & Methods team
  • Electrical and Software Integration
  • Quality Engineering


Knowledge, Skills and Experience



  • Experience of process development and software tool deployment.
  • Practical experience of system engineering processes, including traceability.
  • Experience of Dassault 3Dx, JIRA, XRAY and Tableau.
  • Experience in cross functional collaboration.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience.




  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong influencing and engagement skills.
  • Familiar with Automotive SPICE and ISO26262.
  • Understanding of Powertrain and Propulsion systems.
  • Familiar with Agile ways of working (Scrum, Kanban, Scaled Agile).
  • Knowledge of automotive software, calibration and networks.
