JLR’s Digital Procurement team has responsibility for creating and managing external commercial relationships that support JLR’s product offerings in the digital space. It is the key point of interface for major software, IT/digital services and digital content providers.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Strategy & Sourcing:
● Responsible for Strategic Category Plan (SCP)/Commodity Strategy creation and delivery
● Delivering sourcing in line with policy and to agreed targets through the Global Sourcing Process (GSP) and
deploying Total Cost of Ownership and Total Value of Ownership approach
● Leading complex supplier negotiations including legal and financial approval pre-Contract / Purchase Order,
engaging specialist teams and Global Purchasing Finance
● Responsible for delivering against savings programme targets

Contract & Supplier Relationship Management:
• Working with Stakeholders and Finance to operate the contract management governance, act as a key
Purchasing representative to ensure cross-functional alignment on quality, cost, delivery and time
requirements
• Responsible for managing contract dispute resolution process
• Change management of the contracts and Purchase Orders
• Support contract audit/reviews in line with requirements
• Ensuring the Supplier Relationship Management and Supplier Performance Management processes are
carried out effectively
• Responsible for organising and conducting the Supplier Business Reviews

Other:
● Ensure compliance to the JLR processes
● Manage commercial risk, and ensure the supply chain operates in accordance with JLR’s quality requirements,
customer and governmental regulations
● Participate in global functional transformation projects, process improvements and activities as required
● Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Essential:

● Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred
● Ability to work independently, results driven, demonstrates tenacity, drive and perseverance, with the ability to deliver in a complex, highly demanding environment.
● Legal contracts/Terms and Conditions understanding
● Capability to create high quality long-term strategic purchasing commodity strategies
● A resilient and enthusiastic individual who responds constructively to new ideas and inputs
● A strong communicator with the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders to influence crossfunctional engagement
● An effective team player, with the ability to manage internal and external relationships
● Maintaining compliance with standard policies and procedures
● Commercial Awareness and Negotiation skills
● Operational Contract Management experience
● Flexibility and agility to be able to adjust to changing business needs

Desirable:

● Category knowledge and demonstrated experience
● Previous supplier experience within category
● An individual with the ability to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust
● Experience of working in a global, multi-cultural environment
● Understanding of digital technology developmental cycles and trends
● Experience negotiating in a range of market conditions
