As a Discrete Event Simulation Engineer at JLR, you’ll support vehicle and system programmes by creating virtual models of manufacturing processes from concept through to delivery. This is a chance to push boundaries, channel your curiosity and work with pioneering products. WHAT TO EXPECT
In this role you’ll collaborate widely, turning complex data into clear direction that improves performance and outcomes. It’s a hands on, problem solving environment where you’ll embrace change and do things differently to unlock better results. Here’s what to expect:
- Developing and delivering discrete event simulation models and documentation from early concept through to programme milestones
- Supporting optimisation of systems including cycle time, buffers and operational performance to meet programme targets
- Collaborating with engineering, production and programme teams to refine designs and resolve constraints
- Analysing bottlenecks and proposing strategies to improve throughput and efficiency
- Coordinating feedback and presenting insights through dashboards, reviews and stakeholder updates
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills and experiences you’ll need to succeed here, including:
- Demonstrating experience with discrete event simulation tools and production process flow modelling
- Applying problem solving skills to complex technical systems including bottleneck analysis and optimisation
- Managing projects and communicating insights clearly to both technical teams and senior stakeholders
- Using tools such as PowerPoint, Excel and Teams, alongside knowledge of Lean techniques
- Bringing familiarity with Siemens or Witness Plant Simulation, automotive manufacturing or data tools such as Python or PowerBI as an advantage
