The HR Centres of Expertise develop and deliver strategies across JLR to improve organisational capability and the employee experience. This role sits in Global Mobility, HR Centre of Expertise and will scan the external environment to identify best practices in compliance for our cross-border workforce. The Global Mobility Compliance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the organisation’s global travel and immigration programs are compliant with global immigration, tax, and employment regulations. This role partners with HR, Legal, Tax, and external providers to proactively monitor legislative changes, assess risk, and implement compliant mobility solutions ensuring our end-to-end processes on a global basis are set up for success.
WHAT TO EXPECT
In this role, you will ensure we are set up for compliance purposes, across employment law, tax and immigration. Here’s what to expect:
- Monitor legislative changes and global trends, proactively assessing impact and implementing required policy or process updates (for example all of the recent UK immigration proposed changes for individuals on skilled worker visas and recent UK right to work proposed changes)
- Design and maintain scalable global mobility compliance frameworks, policies, and governance structures
- Conduct risk assessments and provide expert advice to HR and business leaders on cross-border compliance risks and mitigation strategies
- Partner with Legal, Tax, Payroll, and external vendors to deliver seamless, end-to-end compliance for UK immigration and wider global mobility activities
- Leverage data, systems, and analytics to monitor compliance performance, identify risks, and provide insights to senior stakeholders
- Drive best practice through training, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance is delivered effectively and cost-efficiently
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including:
- Experience of Stakeholder Management, Business Influencing and Contracting
- Advanced compliance and risk expertise. Regulatory interpretation & impact analysis
- Proven experience of understanding compliance requirements when cross border working and implementing processes to manage such compliance
- Extensive experience and knowledge of working in global mobility (which can UK immigration)
- Strong analytical skills to identify how one issue can impact on another and put in place the required interventions through support or from own knowledge base
- Global Mobility supplier & team management experience
- Strong communication skills, being able to explain complex requirements in a simple and understandable way
