WHAT TO EXPECT :

 

The purpose of this role is to coordinate the design, development, testing and introduction of EDSE components within the Engine and EDU Systems Sub-system. The role requires the individual to deliver the commodity plan to quality, cost and time and lead on the technical content and integrity of specific components across Engine Programmes.
       .

Key accountabilities and responsibilities:

 

The engineer will be assigned responsibility for EDSE systems. For those components / that sub-system they will be responsible for the following where applicable:

•    Ownership of core Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), including related documents (e.g. boundary and interface analysis).
•    Development / management of engineering requirements / design rules / test cases / test procedures
•    Generation of concepts, detailed design and component specifications
•    Completion of Design Review By Failure Mode (DRBFM)
•    Liaison with key suppliers to develop technology roadmap and support standards development and issue resolution.
•    Benchmarking of new technology in literature and competitors’ products through supplier presentations, teardown activities, in-house research projects and review of publications, conference proceedings and other public domain sources.
•    Root cause analysis and resolution of issues during development / launch / in production using 8D / Six Sigma Methodology

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED :

 

Essential:
●    Good technical understanding of EDS sub-system / component design and operating principles. 
●    Experience of managing resolution of business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment, including with Tier 1 suppliers.
●    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong influencing, presentation and reporting skills to support supplier and management reviews.
●    Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
 

Desirable:

  • Experience of EDSE sub-system / component design / development.
  • A good working knowledge of product creation & delivery, product definition and change management processes.
