JOB TITLE: Lead Solutions & Implementation Engineer
SALARY: £46,000 - £55,000

Working in Manufacturing at JLR, you'll be the hands-on expert who brings innovation to life. You'll collaborate with a team of expert technicians and problem-solvers and use cutting-edge tools, facilities, and processes engineered together to build era-defining vehicles that people across the world know and love. You will be responsible for developing and delivering a range of material handling, IT and process improvement solutions as well as coordinating the implementation of strategic projects that drive overall efficiency and cost reduction. 


You will play a significant part in JLR’s move towards greater levels of automation including but not limited to Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV’s) and Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) 


WHAT TO EXPECT


You will be at the forefront of new logistics technologies, developing new solutions and working with suppliers to identify new opportunities.  You will need the confidence to communicate new ideas and encourage others to move away from traditional material flow methodologies. You will be responsible for delivering complex projects, as well as working collaboratively across multiple manufacturing teams, Plant Logistics and closely with the lead logistics provider.


In addition, this is what else to expect:


•    Project lead responsible for large investment automation projects, from idea creation to implementation
•    Deliver Logistics solutions ensuing JLR adopt Best in class solutions 
•    Use benchmarking and other research methods to identify potential opportunities for the latest technology and methodologies to drive best in class solutions

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 


Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including: 


•    Experience working with external suppliers to deliver projects
•    Project management experience 
•    Data analytical skills
•    Knowledge of problem-solving tools
•    Experience of leading facility change & Installation programmes 
•    Strong IT skills and Microsoft package elements Power Point and Excel
•    Extensive Knowledge of Material flow principles and strategies
