I like it here because it’s new. Everyone is excited to get projects off the ground and start something from scratch.

Our 55,000sq. ft Ireland R&D Software Development campus is at the heart of a rich tech eco-system – Ireland’s equivalent of Silicon Valley. It’s a global centre of excellence that’s well-connected to our operations in the UK and around the world and is leading the charge in software development for level four automated driving and electrical vehicle architecture.

The diverse and inclusive teams here are working on next generation automated driving, electrical architecture, next-generation telematics, cyber security, cloud services and benchmarking.

Jaguar Land Rover Shannon attracts a wealth of talented Software Engineers eager to transfer and grow their skills in pioneering automotive where we’re developing fully connected, electric and autonomous driving vehicles.

To produce inspiring cars, we need our graduates to be just as inspired. So graduates at our Shannon Software Engineering Centre get involved in the development of new software based features, gain knowledge of software and system architecture and development in C/C++ or Python to deliver robust software into our vehicles in an agile fashion.

If you have a degree in Engineering or Computer Science specialising in software engineering and development or signal processing, are keen to learn and have a desire to create novel solutions to complex technical problems, you’ll be supported to develop your skills, plan our software delivery schedules, act as a coach/mentor and become a subject matter expert in software development.

The garage is an advanced R&D workshop with 25 vehicle bays and full test facilities. This facility allows project teams to deploy new test programmes almost instantaneously considerably speeding up the process and ensuring the team are fully involved from start to finish.

Living and working in the West of Ireland

Jaguar Land Rover chose to base its Ireland office in the Mid-West for a multitude of reasons. The concentrated tech eco-system is just one and gives tech professionals a way into the exciting automotive industry.

The lifestyle opportunities are just as impressive: right beside Shannon Airport and just two hours from Dublin, the campus is accessible to Limerick and Galway and offers laid back living in the Irish countryside, villages and towns of the West of Ireland.

Located just a 20 minute commute from Shannon, Limerick is the capital of the Mid-West and Ireland’s third largest city. It’s home to many working professionals due to economic growth and quality of living that you’ll find in the city centre, suburbs or countryside.

A city rich in culture and history, Limerick also offers a vibrant nightlife and the largest indoor shopping centre in the Mid-West. Limerick is also proudly recognised as the Irish capital of sport and home to sporting legends Munster Rugby, along with the Gaelic Grounds, University Sports Arena and Limerick Racecourse.

Around a 60 minute commute from Shannon, Galway is a popular tourist hub known for its unique culture and heritage. Known as the ‘city of the tribes’ Galway boasts a unique city landscape with its traditional Irish streets and markets and is surrounded by small villages that offer a more relaxed rural setting.

Some of the city’s most famous attractions include Eyre Square, Salthill and the Saturday markets which run along the famous Shop Street. Galway is also known for its nightlife with a range of famous bars, pubs and restaurants including The West End, Roisín Dubh, and The Dew Drop Inn.

Ennis is a bustling market town just a 20 minute commute from Shannon. It offers a unique blend of old and new Ireland, rich with tradition and heritage but now diverse and modern, and is surrounded by many attractive villages.

A hive for Irish culture and history and world famous for its music, Ennis attracts visitors to its cultural festivals and incredible scenery. It’s the ideal base from which to explore the world renowned Wild Atlantic Way with many of Ireland’s famous landmarks such as the Cliffs of Moher, The Burren and the Aran Islands only a short distance away.
