JOB TITLE: Lead System Engineer

Chassis is responsible for the design, development and integration of all chassis functions from Programme Start to Job1 across all vehicle platforms. Chassis functions include all the functions related within the chassis domain of the vehicle: brakes, stability control, steering, suspension, longitudinal or lateral control, etc.
The Motion Systems, Software & Integration team design, develop and validate systems and software that delivers the functional requirements of the vehicle programmes. You’ll manage the Hungary team that will support the successful delivery of supporting systems.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This role is responsible to lead the definition, development and delivery of harmonised systems solutions, consisting of multiple interconnected components within Chassis Engineering (Motion Information Systems/ Suspension Systems/Steering Systems), into Jaguar Land Rover vehicles.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Systems integration across the range of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles - define system logical and physical architecture, Interface Control Document and a system integration plan
- System Functional and Non-Functional Analysis - carry out a range of analysis and investigations of the customer requirements to define the expected system functionality and their performance targets
- Evaluate multiple system design concepts and maintain integrity between system and its components to arrive at a harmonised solution, adhere to the defined systems engineering process
- System Functional and Physical Architecture - liaise with architecture teams to maintain alignment with the specified programmes, as well as electrical and physical vehicle architecture
- System Design Specification – prepare system requirements specification and developing functional designs, demonstrating how the system satisfies the defined customer requirements
- Verification and Validation - design and develop system integration tests, Lead cross-functional technical reviews on the systems
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Systems development and delivery through all stages of the V cycle
- Detailed knowledge of model-based engineering trough MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow toolchain
- Requirements and change management tools and processes, version control, control strategy documentation
- Quality and robustness techniques and standards such as FMEA, P-Diagrams, noise factor analysis, and data analysis techniques to support this
- Mechanical Engineering Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred
- Fluent in English
Desirable
- Experience in applying Systems Engineering and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach
- Experience in IBM Rational DOORS and MATLAB Simulink
