GRADUATE: Industrial Operations Digital and Data Analytics (Cross Functional)

Duration: 2 years

Location: National Automotive Innovation Centre (NAIC) - University of Warwick, Whitley, Gaydon

Salary: £31,000 with a £2,000 joining bonus, rising to £38,000 on completion of the programme.

Pathways

Industrial Operations (IO) Digital

The IO Digital & Innovation team deliver are responsible for defining and delivering the technical innovation solutions that will transform the way we design and build cars for the future. Through exploring the combined power of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, process and data capabilities, and automation, this team are at the forefront of driving the digital delivery roadmap and optimising investments.

What you'll need

You will need to hold or be on track to achieve at least a 2.2 degree in a games-based design or a software-based degree.

In addition, you will have real passion for problem-solving and the curiosity to understand business challenges and deliver innovative solutions. You will also have strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to champion new initiatives.

Please note that to apply to our graduate programmes, you must have obtained a degree or be expecting to achieve your degree in the current academic year. All our graduate programmes have a fixed start date, commencing 9th September 2024.

If you progress to the next stage we’ll ask you to complete a series of short online tests which you will complete independently. ONLINE ASSESSMENT CENTRE

The next stage is the virtual assessment centre. This consists of a presentation exercise and behavioural interview. You’ll be provided with a preparation guide to help you at this final stage.

OFFER

We’ll share the outcome of your assessment centre within 2 weeks of you completing it. If you are successful, we’ll make you a verbal offer and confirm this in writing via email.

INTRODUCTION

Start with corporate and local inductions into JLR, in September 2024. Receive an overview of our business and future strategic direction, network with other joiners / key stakeholders including our D&I networks and experience the workplace for the first time! You’ll also get more details of your graduate programme and learning curriculum, gain exposure to our vehicles and meet the early careers team, here to support you at every step.

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

The graduate programme will not only provide industry insight, but will help you develop key business skills including communication, self-management, problem solving, influencing and leadership. You’ll receive a blended learning approach over the course of year 1 including face-to-face workshops, virtual classrooms and on-demand content delivered by Ashorne Hill. Lifelong learning – To support your skills development and experiential learning, you’ll be given 20% protected off-the-job learning time, giving you the ability to further your development and achieve the requirements of your graduate programme.

Get the chance to tour one of our manufacturing sites and experience for yourself the transformation of our luxury vehicles. You might even get the chance to experience the capabilities of our vehicles first hand... Want to have even more fun? HANDS-ON INSIGHTS

Manufacturing is the heart of our business operations and helps us deliver the exceptional vehicles we deliver to our customers. You’ll get the chance to undertake a week-long placement on the manufacturing line and gain an appreciation of the immense effort that goes into each vehicle we create. You’ll also have the option of a further 1-week experience in another business function such as early careers, commercial, company quality and others, to gain different insights and experiences than a typical day-to-day in your home department.

DEVELOPMENT

Own your own journey. Apply your degree to real-world business issues as part of your role. You’ll have the ability to complete rotational placements as part of your two-year programme, broadening your knowledge of the business function and building connections with new stakeholders. Expect to gain tangible examples on where you have positively impacted the business and further your personal and professional skills. Depending on your function, there may also be the opportunity for you to gain further qualifications during your 2nd year.

GRADUATE INNOVATION CHALLENGE

The GIC is an initiative run by JLR across year 2 of your programme. You’ll have the opportunity to develop innovative solutions to current business issues, working collaboratively with other JLR graduates globally. Your 20% off-the-job time will support your self-development and project work. Each group will have the opportunity to present their pioneering solutions to senior leaders within the business, with winners often receiving prizes and funding to incorporate their idea into JLR in the future!
