WHAT TO EXPECT


Working with a small team you will support the delivery of the real-time controls software for Jaguar Land Rover’s future Electric Drive Units, you will generate controls software in a model based development environment using Matlab and Simulink and work on the calibration and validation of the generated software on a variety of test properties.

 

You will work with a number of other teams to develop software requirements, working on development, test and simulation through Simulink/Stateflow and will support the validation of all generated software. 

Documentation, including model based specifications and supporting calibration guides development will also be part of this role, with analysis of discovered issues to enable root cause determination and resolution. 

 

The Controls System Development Engineer is an exciting and multifaceted opportunity that will allow the individual to work on the future of our vehicles in a fast paced and ever changing environment.

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 

 


The successful candidate will have strong and demonstrable model based experience in Matlab and Simulink and knowledge developing robust control systems algorithms. An ability to turn high level requirements into control code and be able to validate the control code through the use of software validation tools. 

 

It is critical to have an eye for attention to detail and accuracy whilst delivering projects at pace, maintaining a calm disposition, updating and implementing software changes using Simulink tool and ensuring that data collected shows that the software in place is working correctly and efficiently.

 

Knowledge of Powertrain or Electrical Systems is essential and experience working within the Automotive or Aerospace environment is needed for success in the role. As well as a team playing mentality and an ability to work effectively interdepartmentally, with people and networking skills that are conducive to a proactive work environment.
