Role: General Manager, Commercial – Classic Cars

Jaguar Land Rover, Classic Works, plays an essential role in the production, restoration and storage of Jaguar and Land Rover Classics.  Opened to the public in 2017, the 14,000m2 facility houses all our Classic operations under one roof, comprising 54 individual workshop bays and strip down areas, a dedicated engine shop and space for 480 vehicles, received by the media as a ‘Dream Factory’.  Staffed by expert Classic engineers & Skilled technicians, the operations house four specialist teams dedicated to creating and supplying Authentic Cars, Owner Services, Genuine Parts and Classic Experiences.




As part of the Jaguar Land Rover Classic Leadership team, this highly visible role has accountability for the end to end commercial proposition from vehicle sourcing to sales, to cater to, and exceed, the desires of fulfilling our customers' dreams.  Reporting directly to the Director, Classic Cars, the role has accountability for a team of c.25.



  • Ensure that every client interaction is met by the highest standard of excellence.
  • Deliver sales and financial targets within the UK and German retail business
  • Set the car sourcing strategy in order to ensure we have the correct donor vehicles for program cars.
  • Define and lead the customer journey for the Classic customer experience
  • Be a part of the product defining process to establish product price point and route to market strategy.
  • Accountable for the CRM across Classic’s customer portfolio, delivering a world class customer experience.
  • Developing the events and marketing strategic approach
  • Continue to grow the services business focussing on Bespoke, Part-Restoration and Car Servicing.
  • Ensuring the legal documentation and financial regulation is upheld as part of Classic’s sales process.
  • Going above and beyond what is expected and delivering a level of service that surprises clients in the best possible way.

  • Proven experience of a customer facing leadership role
  • Strong commercial knowledge of the global ‘Classic car’ business
  • Experience of developing a commercial proposition of low volume, high value and bespoke products.
  • A strong ability to understand complex modern and classic technology, and to lead problem solving and solution synthesis.
  • Strong leadership profile: develops talent, inspires others and achieves results through cross region and multi-cultural project teams.
  • Strong business acumen with an ability to challenge existing concepts and beliefs
  • Operates comfortably in a matrix structure, adept at managing complex relationships regionally and globally.
  • Effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
  • Experience of working with or within a car retail business.
  • Record of building a ‘take to market’ deployment strategy for a product.

  • Experience of owning and delivering against financial targets
  • Of working within a luxury car (or equivalent) retail business
  • Managing a team with diverse skillsets (Sales, Sourcing, Administration etc)
