JOB TITLE: HR Data Compliance and Ethics Lead
SALARY: £38,800 - £45,000



The Opportunity

This role within Jaguar Land Rover is for a Data Compliance and Governance lead within the HR Data and Digital team. The role will focus on GDPR compliance, data quality and governance for People and Organisation data sets and processes across JLR globally.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities


  • Act as the lead HR champion for GDPR, coordinating local GDPR champions across the function.
  • Be the first point of contact for the central GDPR team driving data compliance across HR
  • Co-ordinate local HR GDPR Champions to ensure Privacy by Design and Default is applied across all processes and services.
  • Lead the GDPR risk management process ensuring all risks have been identified and mitigation plans are in place and delivered to manage risks.
  • Support and monitor the investigation and mitigation of data protection incidents and data subjects requests (DSRs) across HR
  • Lead the regular review of the JLR employee privacy statements ensuring the are kept up to date with all changes.
  • Produce regular GDPR updates to governance forums both within HR and corporately
  • Support and coach local GDPR champions to ensure that projects and changes to services adhere to Privacy by Design and Default and risk assessments are completed and mitigated
  • Drive the resolution of any identified GDPR and data governance issues, working with the HR Data champions and the central JLR Data Protection and security teams.
  • Ensure that effective use and management of people and organisation data is at the heart of the digital solution design.
  • Contribute to the maturity of a data dictionary, with master and secondary data sources, data definitions and data flows for people and organisation data.
  • Identify and monitor standards of data quality across People and Organisation services, working with local GDPR champions to ensure data quality and compliance is at the heart of all data processing activities.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience


  • Previous experience of working in a similar role with a proven track record of delivery in Data, and compliance
  • Understanding of data privacy and GDPR regulations and able to apply this to data design and sharing
  • Experience working with people data, technology and systems, e.g. SAP / SF
  • Understanding and experience of HR data sets and information sources 
  •  An individual who enables speed in decision making through establishing alignment, clarity, appropriate resources and sense of urgency whilst bringing others along

This role may offer the opportunity for hybrid working where you can split your time between working from home and in the office.
