JOB TITLE: Corporate Tax Specialist

This role sits with the Corporate Tax Team and contributes to the overall management of Jaguar Land Rover’s tax strategy as it relates to tax reporting, accounting and compliance.

 

One of three positions reporting to the Head of Corporate Tax Compliance and Reporting, this is a challenging role focussing on key aspects of corporate tax within a complex international business environment.  You will support the team, and the Head of Corporate Tax Compliance and Reporting, in relation to all aspects of UK corporate tax and also the Group’s quarterly tax reporting requirements including:

 

•    All aspects of UK Corporation Tax including:
- UK tax return process;
- Group Relief and tax loss utilisation;
- Capital Allowance claims;
- Patent Box claims;
- Corporate interest restriction compliance;
- CFC/DPT monitoring and reporting;
- Tax payments / payments on account;
- Withholding taxes (CT16 and overseas withholdings taxes suffered);
- Liaising with HMRC.    

 

•    Financial Reporting
- Preparation of UK quarterly tax packs including tracking fixed asset inputs;
- IFRS16 reporting;
- Working with the Group Accounting function to produce consolidated tax financials for the Group;
- Liaising with external auditors on tax issues;
- Providing necessary tax input into the UK statutory accounts preparation process;
- Producing tax forecasts for the Group (forecast, budget and business plan);    
- Help monitoring quarterly transfer pricing position.

 

•    Compliance & Risk Management
- Evaluate and integrate new corporate tax reporting technology. 
- Monitoring Group tax positions and related compliance on a global basis, including tax enquiries and audits;
- Corporate tax aspects/follow-up re JLR’s overseas operating company tax health-check programme;
- SAO/SOx processes and support for JLR Internal Audit reviews;    
- Treasury/Tax authority information requests;
- Corporate tax awareness training for the wider business, including tax accounting training for subsidiaries.

 

•    Monitoring and forecasting global corporate tax payments.    

 

As the Senior Tax Analyst you’ll be responsible for:


•    Preparation and submission of UK Corporate Tax returns in accordance with defined processes.
•    Other UK Corporate Tax compliance activities including Corporate Tax payments, SAO, DPT, CT61, Treasury requests and HMRC enquiries.
•    Assist with monitoring JLR Group tax compliance on a global basis.
•    Work with the Head of Corporate Tax Compliance and Reporting and Financial Reporting to produce consolidated tax financials for the JLR Group and company level statutory accounts disclosures.
•    Monitor and forecast the global Corporate Tax charge and associated cash payments.
•    Undertake Corporate Tax awareness training for the wider business. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED


•    Significant experience of UK Corporate Tax and accounting process.
•    Ability to effectively interpret and communicate financial data to both finance and non-finance customer base. 
•    Good analytical skills with an attention to detail.
•    Ability to deliver good quality outputs to strict deadlines.
•    Strong excel skills.
•    Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).   

 

Desirable: 
•    Previous experience in Corporate Tax and accounting in manufacturing.
•    Experience of SAP general ledger module.
•    Experience of One Source tax software.
•    Qualified Tax Adviser (CTA).
