This is the key technical department for the product creation process, leading the engineering from concept to customer. There are three parts to it: Attribute Quality and Process, Vehicle Integrity Team and Vehicle Engineering Management. Working here, you’ll give our vehicles their unique characteristics.  The role is within Infotainment and Connected Car reporting to the Software Delivery Manager


VDC CoherenSE Engineer role is critical to the introduction of our Infotainment and Connected Car systems. The programme must be delivered to JLR-PCS (GPDS) requirements but will require a new approach in our engineering process and relationships with business partners. This role is key to delivering enhancements to the product across the fleet on Jaguar Land Rover vehicles.


The primary responsibility for this role is to support system integration activities.


  • Design and implement software systems to meet system requirements.
  • Establish a stable and robust system which seamless aligns with the user’s intentions.
  • Working with the open source communities, collaborating partner companies and external suppliers to create new experiences.





For this role, you’ll need to have strong experience in design and development of applications using CoherenSE with Knowledge in Code, document, design, and release according to latest industry proven software processes.


You’ll also need knowledge or familiarity of:


  • Design and implementation of scalable and robust in-vehicle embedded oriented software applications.
  • Experience in creating software that is modular, well documented, and with fully integrated diagnostics to minimize resolution time for reported defects and maximize code reuse.
  • Experience in development or integration for Linux/QNX platform.
  • Experience in development or integration of VMs and Hypervisors and using Issue management tools (eg: IBM Clear Quest, JIRA)


Aside from your software capabilities, you’ll have the capacity to interact, communicate and present ideas at senior levels as well as ad hoc review meetings. In addition, you'll need to skilfully manage necessary supplier relationships to enable software delivery on time and budget and at an exceptional level of quality.
