The Systems and Data team within Product Engineering Finance are looking for a developer with python experience who can help drive improvements across our financial reporting, data management and transactional approval activities.


PE Finance Systems & Data Team main responsibilities are:
•    Maintenance of the systems and infrastructure supporting Next Generation Redbook (NGR) - Cost Management application
•    Development and maintenance of standardised reporting packs in SAP Business Objects
•    Development of ad-hoc reporting requirements in Tableau
•    Design and development of semi-/automated tools to support data management activities
•    Deployment and monitoring of Robotic Process Automation (Blue Prism) processes in collaboration with Intelligent Automation Team
•    Design and deployment of interfaces between NGR and other JLR applications


The role provides an opportunity to work with a wide range of different stakeholders from across the JLR business supporting critical activities for the success of our programmes.




Knowledge, Skills and Experience


•    Expert in Python3 programming
•    Experience with relational and hierarchical databases (SQL Server)
•    Experience with JSON
•    Hands on experience of SQL (especially recursive joints and stored procedures)
•    Basic understanding of Extract Transform Load process (ETL)

•    Demonstrates a desire and aptitude to learn new skills and work on automated systems
•    Must be able to work and communicate effectively with both IT Professionals and customers alike and have the ability to adapt communication based on the audience’s technical or non-technical ability
•    Continuous improvement ‘mind set’ with the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues using innovation
•    Strong data analytics skills with an attention to detail
•    Resilient and able to work under pressure


•    Working knowledge of Python Panda library
•    Previously been working in Agile Scrum Team
•    Experience in JLR systems – WERS, WIPS, iCREATE, SAP, NGR
