WHAT TO EXPECT

 

The HV Battery BEM (Battery Electric Module) Integration team are expanding to support the creation of the next generation of modern luxury vehicles. Our mission is to ensure that the design of all commodities are working in context and aligned with programme assumptions.

 

Integration Engineers perform a vital role in the battery engineering design maturation process, ensuring that the design of all commodities are working in context and are aligned with programme assumptions.

 

The role requires design knowledge of mechanical parts and knowledge of HV battery systems, coupled with a good understanding of CAD to translate the design solution and provide guidance to the design and integration engineers to implement solutions enabling delivery of our products into production.

The HV Battery engineering department is responsible for the design, development and engineering sign off of all JLR batteries. The department comprises a matrix organisation of designers, test and validation engineers and programme leaders.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinating daily activities to deliver EMA BEM to relevant project milestones.

  • Responsible for achieving BEM virtual build maturity to deliver Quality, Cost, Weight, Function and Time targets.

  • Provide direction and resolve cross functional issues across departments and business functions.

  • Escalate and communicate issues and roadblocks for arbitration and suggest solutions within BEM and battery, powertrain and vehicle, using burndown charts to track progress against the agreed profile.

  • Manage project cadence and ensure transparent communication and escalation.

  • Steer design reviews to establish design compatibility across teams.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Knowledge of battery and hybrid propulsion systems

  • Delivery of Engineering and or analytical projects preferably within the automotive industry

  • Capability of cross functional co-ordination and management

  • Experience of working in Agile and Scrum using toolsets such as JIRA

  • Mechanical Design and CAD knowledge

  • Production and assembly process understanding for key battery components.

  • Experience of manufacturing control and documentation processes

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience
