WHAT TO EXPECT

 

The battery team is one of the fastest growing teams in the JLR business with its main focus to respond to the increasing mix of BEV vehicles in our cycle plan.

 

We are looking for a Cell Swelling Engineer in the Battery Systems Advanced Concepts & Research Pillar, reporting to the Cell Simulation Manager.

 

The Cell Swelling Engineer will be responsible for defining and implementing simulation and testing methodologies to achieve component and system functional targets.

 

Your mission? Implementing Test and Validation solutions to meet component functional targets.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Consolidate and create benchmark material from device to vehicle that maximises our understanding of our competitors and the current / latest technology landscape being deployed.
  • Coordinate testing and simulation.
  • Work alongside key business stakeholders to ensure we meet our vehicle product needs.
  • Investigate the how, why and impact of battery swelling.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

Essential

 

  • Experience of the multi-physics nature of simulation and testing within cell/battery design and integration.
  • Experience within the competitor battery manufacturing industry.
  • An ability to communicate a technical concept and strategy vision to the wider vehicle and Power Train electrification teams in order to drive toward a single optimised roadmap.
  • Ability to build and manage multiple internal and external relationships in complex stakeholder environments.
  • Knowledge of the BEV Test and Simulation battery landscape across the worldwide supply base or other OEM manufacturers to allow credible and competitive concepts and strategies to be followed.
