The Opportunity


The Traction Inverter, DCDC & OBC commodities are key component in Jaguar Landrover's electrification strategy. The Power Electronics Concept team is responsible for the design and advanced development &/or selection of these components for our electrification programmes. As the Power Electronics SME for Advanced Concepts you will be a leading exponent in the development of new technologies and standards, ensuring that Jaguar Landrover applies world class Power Electronics for its Electrified products. In addition, you will support the team with technical resolution for key issues and signing off our applications as being technically fit for production.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities


You will be responsible for the creation & maintenance of detailed technology & commodity roadmaps for strategy alignment. You’ll also ensure the development of engineering processes to deliver robust power electronic products.

In this role you will be accountable for the on-time delivery of work packages, ensuring the Power Electronic Commodity, Electric Drive Unit and Powertrain Electrification System teams are all up to speed.

You will also work with external suppliers of components and services (EMS companies) as well as Universities & Research institutions to ensure success in quality issue resolution and prevent recurrence methods


Knowledge, Skills and Experience



  • Electronics design experience in a relevant industry (Automotive, Aerospace, Marine or similar)
  • Simulation of power electronics circuits & LV electronic circuitry
  • Failure mode avoidance with demonstrable knowledge of associated processes such as DFMEA and FTA
  • Knowledge of best practice approaches for design in accordance with global EMC standards



  • Experience designing traction inverters, HV-HV DCDCs, HV-LV DCDCs or OBCs
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards chartered status
  • Automotive product development experience
