WHAT TO EXPECT
This new 'up-front' role is an excting opportunity to join Jaguar Land Rover. The main responsibility of this role will be defining and communicating to the wider business the technical seating assumptions for the new Jaguar Land Rover programmes. You will be part of a small team focussed on delivering the seating project requirements for the Kick Off & Product Development gateways. This team are currently transitioning into the Agile frameworks and shifting left to firm up assumptions earlier. The team will typically start their work on a new programme 2 Quarterly Business Reviews (6 months) before Kick Off, then hand over a full compatible set of assumptions at Product Development. The team are just about to begin work on a new programme so it is a great time to join.
Whilst the main responsibility of this role will be defining and communicating to the wider business the technical seating assumptions for the new Jaguar Land Rover programmes, the role's overview is quite broad. You will be covering strategic work, programme planning work, documentation and CAD delivery. You will be responsible for all technical aspects of seating definition for your specific programme, plus cost, weight and attribute definition. The work will be both CAD and non-CAD based, we are therefore looking for someone who is happy to do both the 'hands on' and admin reponsibilites of the position that come with a role such as this. We are also looking for someone to join the team who can think beyond the task infront of them in terms of seeing the bigger picture of the work that is being done and what would be best for the overall project as opposed to the specific piece of work that is being done at any given time.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Essential
• Significant automotive engineering experience in complex commodities
• Seating experience
• Bill of Material experience
• ‘Hands-on’ component (or equivalent) design experience using Catia
• Experience of CAD tools, Catia (V6 & Enovia 3DX)
• CAD releasing experience
Desirable
• Excellent communication skills both verbally & written
• PC tools Excel, Powerpoint
• Strong technical ability
• Degree in relevant subject area
