The driving simulator plays a vital role in supporting Vehicle Dynamics (and wider Chassis team) - enabling robust and rapid engineering decisions when delivering Jaguar Land Rover products of the future.

In the role of Driving Simulator Engineer, you will enable the Vehicle Dynamics team to use the simulator efficiently to perform their tasks.  You will be working as part of the small, dedicated team responsible for running the driving simulator facility at Gaydon. Working with the Technical Specialist and Product Owner to foster a culture of continuous improvement


Key accountabilities and responsibilities


In this role you will be responsible for the Day to day running of the driving simulator facility, this will include; Organising facility bookings, running simulator sessions to support program needs, performing simulator hardware and software maintenance to specific schedules & performing model modification and integration tasks as per the requirements of the team to facilitate the smooth running of simulator sessions.





  • Self-motivated individual with Strong organisational and planning skill
  • Demonstratable problem solving techniques
  • Competence in using a vehicle dynamics modelling software
  • Competence in Matlab and Simulink
  • Experience with data analysis
  • Working knowledge of vehicle dynamics theory



  • Good understanding of driving simulator principals including motion cueing
  • Experience of repeatable vehicle testing techniques
  • Good working knowledge of PC hardware and networks
  • Previous experience operating driving simulators or test rigs
  • Working knowledge of rFPro
