Parts Operations Coordinator

Reporting to the Parts Operations Manager, the JLRNA Parts Logistics Coordinator is a critical support role for an Importer and Distributor of Aftermarket automotive parts.  The principal purpose of the position is to control the logistics flow of aftermarket parts from the UK to the North American distribution facilities, and then forward to the retailer network. The incumbent will also lead negotiations with the vendors and come to an agreement on annual contracts. The primary focus is on product delivery quality and integrity (damage-free), with reduced and consistent lead-times.

 

What you will be doing

  • Developing, maintaining, and presenting Order to Delivery Metrics. To include:

  • compiling, analyzing, and posting monthly transportation costs; on-time performance reporting; reviewing transportation efficiencies with Neovia and Unipart; investigate cost reductions; analyze trade routes; problem resolution, and ad hoc reporting

  • Developing and maintain a robust damage handling process

  • Leading and driving process improvement/cost reduction projects to completion

  • Supporting the contract establishment, negotiating, and renewal process for all logistics vendors 

  • Investigating customer service issues, as well as logistics/damage related items, being the liaison between JLRNA, the retailer, and the carrier 

  • Improving packaging standard with UK

  • Supporting all aspects of the Supply Chain Operations Group

  • Coordinating C-TPAT operations with US Customs/investigate US Customs trade law/compliance

  • Perform other duties as required

 

What you will need:

  • BS Degree or equivalent work related experience, preferably in Logistics, Transportation Management or Supply Chain Management

  • Knowledge of the Automotive Logistics Industry

  • Strong computer experience i.e. SAP, Client Server Applications, Excel, Access and Visio

  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment and work with competing priorities. 

  • Warehouse Operations Management

  • Retailer Parts Policies and Procedures

  • Packaging Engineering/Supervision

  • International Customs Experience

  • Hazmat Certification

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working for an Automotive Logistics Company or Lead Logistics Provider.

 

Location:  Mawhah, NJ 

Schedule:  Hybrid Ways of Working (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday - office days; Wednesday and Friday - choice days)
