POSITION:  Technical Training Manager

LOCATION:  Mahwah, NJ

Technical training is at a pivotal point, not only within Jaguar Land Rover but in the Automotive Industry.  It is imperative that we are able to provide the best training possible, using innovative training delivery methods, transitioning to new and complex technologies whilst maintaining a primary focus on the customer.

 

The role is required to optimize meeting the global training mandates with local market requirements to achieve positive outcomes for our retailers and our customers.  The position must work hand-in-hand Global and Local with Customer Service and Training Vendor to achieve global and local targets. The role will also consider technical and body training as an autonomous business and as a result ensure the business is financially viable, efficient and always delivers innovation to ensure world class customer (retailer) facing services.

 

In addition, the successful candidate will manage and coordinate the execution of the Global Learner Journey for technical training.  This position is responsible for training strategy, digital and in-person training, technical recruitment programs, training analytics, classroom and workshop utilization efficiency, technical fleet management, managing suppliers and operating technical training facilities safely and efficiently.

 

This role requires the ability to be a problem solver, to find solutions that innovate, create value and look to evolve services and bring in new ideas and innovation whilst promoting a diverse and inclusive working environment. The role also requires technical leadership to ensure the technical training competency remains high and that deliverables are consistent.

 

The position is a key contributor to Global Training strategic direction, innovation and course development. 

 

What you will be doing:

  • Managing the Technical, Bodyshop and MET (Mechanical, Electrical and Trim) Training delivery in North America for consistency, efficiency, effectiveness, and delegate satisfaction.  Coordination with Training Vendors to create and optimize a 3-month rolling schedule.
  • Liaising regularly with UK counterparts to ensure alignment and leveraging of resources being produced in the Central Functions
  • Managing and support Journey to Excellence Technician of the year Competition, Global Technician of the Year Competition, and Technician recruitment programs
  • Managing Operational Budget of $3 Million ensuring all forecasting POs and invoices are processed
  • Performing other duties as required

 

What you will need:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Training or Management or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years direct luxury automotive experience
  • 5+ years direct Field /dealer relation experience
  • 5+ years of vendor and project management experience
  • Superior analytical skills and problem-solving capability
  • 5+ years Leadership Experience 
  • 5+ years Background / experience in automotive technical / engineering / mechanical.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills are essential, and must be comfortable presenting to all levels of management;
  • Must have strong business acumen, and the ability to work with people at varying levels with the organization and network;

 

 

Schedule:  Monday through Friday

 

Recruitment Salary Range:  $107,500 - $150,000

 

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized components, including location, skills, experience, and market factors. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus in addition to a full range of medical/health, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick/personal, and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position”.
