Position:  Sales and Product Planning Intern

Deparment: Sales and Product Planning

Location:Mississauga, Canada


JLR Canada ULC (JLRC) is a Sales and Product Planning organization located in Mississauga, Ontario, presently offering a 12 month internship starting June 2023 in the Sales and Product Planning departments.  (Note, the internship may be extended pending business needs at the time.)

This position provides an opportunity to challenge your analytical skills, and to develop business acumen, leadership, and management skills. JLRC operates in a dynamic and challenging industry within a larger business organization working closely with Jaguar Land Rover North America, located in Mahwah, New Jersey, as well as Jaguar Land Rover in the United Kingdom. 

Sales and Product departmental overview
The Sales department is responsible for short term and long term sales planning for Jaguar Land Rover Canada, monthly Vehicle Incentives, as well as vehicle distribution across the Canadian Retailer Network. The candidate will be working directly with the Incentives Manager, Distribution Manager and Sales / Distribution Analysts. 

The Product Planning team is responsible for all the current and future Product Planning & Pricing of the Jaguar and Land Rover models. The candidate will be working directly with the Product Planning Managers. 

What you will be doing:

Sales Department assistance Items (45%): 

  • Competitive research and analysis for monthly/quarterly Retail Program Incentive analysis 
  • Vehicle specification adjust comparisons for monthly/quarterly Retail Program Incentive analysis 
  • Managing Partners email and the assignment of PIN’s for JLR Partners Program
  • Updating competitive files with current residuals and incentives 
  • Managing dealer credits for retail operations – creating monthly templates for assigned vehicles
  • Investigating Retailer Claims for incentive monies not received
  • Uploading department invoices to Sharepoint and ensuring all payments are processed accurately and on time (Sales, Marketing & Public Relations)
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly presentation slides using various sales reports
  • Provide assistance with the preparation of sales reports 

Product Planning Team assistance Items (45%): 

  • Validation of pricing and specification details in SAP and VISTA 
  • Creating derivative and option content across all car lines for upload into SAP
  • Competitive research and analysis (pricing, order guides, trim/option/take rate analysis) 
  • Running Jaguar and Land Rover order extracts on regular basis for derivative mix and option take rates 
  • Product Planning Team assistance Items (<10%): 
  • Uploading department invoices to Sharepoint and ensuring all payments are processed accurately and on time 
  • Corporate Voicemail – retrieve and distribute messages weekly


What you will need: 

  • Must be enrolled in a college/university
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills 
  • Strong financial/numerical acumen 
  • Familiarity with SAP is an asset 
  • High level of professionalism and tact; able to maintain strict confidentiality 
  • Confidence to deal with individuals at all levels of the organization 
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented with well-developed communication skills
