This role is for a Software Developer within the Software Group in Assisted and Automated Driving & Chassis control, this is a critical for delivering technologies across multiple present and future Model Years. Focus is within the teams that develops and maintains Middleware Software specifically covering Diagnostics, Network Signal processing, ECU (Electronic Control Unit) power mode management and health management framework according to ISO 26262, ASPICE and software quality standards. 




Joining us as a AUTOSAR DIAGNOSTICS SOFTWARE DEVELOPER you will be working cross-functionally alongside, Software Architects, Software Integration Engineer, Functional Safety Engineers, V&V (Verification & Validation) Engineers, and Software Suppliers. 


As part of this role, you will be responsible for:  

• Deliver Software Models for simulation and code generation. 

• Lead the definition of Diagnostics Software architecture 

• Deliver Diagnostics Software requirements and components in line with the specified Diagnostics architecture.  

• Deliver Software components in compliance with Quality, Regulatory, Safety and Cybersecurity standards by optimising trade off and resolving conflicting requirements 

• Contribute to the development of SW Architecture Specifications compatible with Service and Manufacturing standards and tools 

• Review & approve HW/SW interface requirements 

• Work with the validation & verification teams to capture in the SW architecture design the test interfaces required for test evidence / issues investigation 

• Perform and document Software unit tests and Software integration tests 

• Debug software issues 




Essential experience and knowledge: 

  • Significant feature development experience using C/C++ 

  • Hands on experience in developing complex software to satisfy design objectives for Diagnostics and Health Management 

  • Experience with Model Based Development using MATLAB & Simulink 

  • Experience in Autocode generation using Embedded Coder or Target Link. 

  • Automotive Diagnostics Service routine development 

  • Previous experience with Autosar Classic & Adaptive 

  • Automotive Software quality – MISRA, QAC 

  • Software Design - the specification and design of systems and their components to meet defined needs, retaining compatibility with software architectures. 

  • The design, creation, testing and documenting of new and amended programs from supplied specifications in accordance with agreed standards. 

  • Failure mode analysis and prevention  


  • Experience in Automotive Engineering Delivery and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach 

  • Experience in requirements management, UML, SysML modelling in Dassault tool set.
