JOB TITLE: Senior Functonal Safty Engineer

Joining us as a Senior Functional Safety Engineer, you’ll be working cross-functionally alongside System Engineers, Component Engineers, and external suppliers, ensuring everything that’s produced aligns with functional safety processes and requirements. This will mean a ‘safe’ product is always delivered, according to our vehicle development schedule.


As part of this role, you’ll work with suppliers and hardware/software development teams to design ISO 26262 compliant systems. You will perform safety analysis, define safety goals, define FSC’s and TSC’s, functional safety requirements, technical safety requirements, and hardware and software safety requirements.


You’ll work on safety and failure analysis, documenting analysis requirements and results. You will need to work in an open, transparent and collaborative manner, sharing good practice and seeking to continuously improve the quality of outputs.




You’ll have 4/5+ year experience in a functional safety role, skills in the following areas are advantageous:


  • Safety analysis, STPA, FMEA, FMEDA, FTA.
  • Developing Functional Safety Concepts and Technical Safety Concepts. 
  • An understanding of safety metrics, SPFM, LFM and PMHF.
  • An understanding of silicon safety devices, processors, micro-controllers and HW safety mechanisms.


Experience as a functional safety manager is also desirable. Experience with Embedded Safety SW, Operating Systems, MISRA/Autosar and Software Safety mechanisms is highly advantageous.


  • Safety Analysis experience.
  • An understanding of safety metrics and embedded safety SW.
  • Ability to develop FSC, TSC and decompose requirements across the system.
