WHAT TO EXPECT

 

JLR, a prominent automotive company committed to advancing intelligent, secure, and environmentally conscious driving experiences, is in search of a highly skilled Lead Thermal System Engineer. The role entails spearheading the design, development, and validation of the EDU thermal system for BEV projects. This leadership position requires the incumbent to define system architectures, construct thermal models, conduct analyses, and oversee the testing of the EDU thermal system. The successful candidate will collaborate with a diverse team to ensure the performance, quality, and reliability of the upcoming generation of in-house manufactured Electric Drive Units. 

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Defining system architectures and thermal control system architectures. 

  • Constructing thermal models, conducting analyses, and coordinating the testing of the EDU thermal system. 

  • Operating within a Systems Engineering environment, with a specific focus on Automotive systems. 

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of E-Machines, Inverters, and Electric Drive Unit systems. 

  • Ensuring that the EDU thermal system meets stringent performance, quality, and reliability targets. 


WHAT YOU'LL NEED

 

  • A relevant degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. 

  • Substantial experience in Thermal Systems Engineering. 

  • Proficiency in working with E-machines, Inverters, and Electric Drive Unit Systems. 

  • In-depth knowledge of cooling and lubrication system components and their control strategies. 

  • Experience in CAE methods and processes such as Matlab, Simulink, AMESim, GT, and CFD. 

  • Proficiency in applying Systems Engineering and resolving complex technical issues using a structured approach. 

  • Familiarity with Model-based system engineering (MBSE).
