WHAT TO EXPECT

 

The Product Integrity Team comprise of dynamic, critical thinking individuals who always have integrity and customer safety at the top of their priorities. As part of that team, the Investigation Team have been established to investigate, research and provide the technical evidence in the form of reports and presentations to assist in Product Integrity Investigations globally (except USA and Canada). 
 
This is a role for an inquisitive engineer or investigator who has the drive and passion to investigate complex Product Integrity allegations using investigation techniques or data. The candidate will have a keen eye for detail, the ability to adapt to an ever-changing landscape and priorities. This role will involve forging and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The right candidate will be able to work independently and prioritise their workload in conjunction with the wider team.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Working across the business and cross functionally gathers information and data to create robust technical arguments as required by the Product Integrity Investigation Manager to be used in a Court of Law to defend JLR and its products. 
  • Develop Investigation summaries with supporting detailed data analysis.
  • Contact customers/witnesses and obtain details of the alleged incidents, producing an accurate report of the conversation. 
  • Develop and maintain a close working relationship with representatives from Engineering Functions (CoCs), Vehicle Engineering, manufacturing etc. to ensure all available evidence is gathered.
  • Work with Critical Concerns Senior Engineers to help understand technical case content by gathering the technical detail to produce in an evidential format.
  • Research and prepare required technical information to enable the Product Integrity Investigation Manager to deliver their ‘expert technical witness’ responsibility in any litigation hearings, presenting evidence in a simple to understand manner and defend cross examination. 
  • Represent the Global Critical Concerns department internally and externally. 
  • Attend vehicle inspections, supported as necessary by JLR Crash and Fire Investigators and ensure evidence preservation as required. 
  • Attend UK locations to obtain detailed photographs of the area and preserve evidence where possible. 
  • Support a team culture to maintain the team’s mental wellbeing whilst dealing with the stressful work subject matter that the team can be exposed to. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

 

  • Experience across a range of engineering or investigation disciplines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to present and articulate a clear point of view at all levels within the business. 
  • Investigatory mind set to research and collate all the available information to ensure JLR has a robust position in legal defence cases. 
  • Able to structure and deliver detailed technical reports on complex systems functionality in a clear and standardised manner. 
  • An understanding of evidential processes and legal proceedings. Full training will be given.
  • Be able to provide clear communication of analysis, data and information using Microsoft products.
  • A working knowledge of JLR systems and investigation tools and techniques.
  • A willingness to undertake 6 Sigma training, if not already qualified. 
  • Broad whole vehicle system knowledge.
