WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Are you ready to step into an exhilarating role within the JLR Plant Quality Engineering team? We’re seeking a Quality Engineer to be a driving force in our department. As part of our team, you’ll lead investigations into both internal and external quality concerns, define failure modes for returned products, and spearhead problem-solving initiatives for warranty projects.

 

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

 

  • Serve as the primary interface for the Quality Engineering team in resolving issues stemming from warranty analysis, customer concerns, and internal quality matters.
  • Analyse warranty failures and organize necessary units for return, while also reviewing audit teardown data to identify potential trends.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product design, to mitigate warranty risks.
  • Lead or support regular reviews and check-ins, ensuring adherence to standards and facilitating team training and development.
  • Champion departmental document control through the JLR Way admin system, ensuring quality documentation is maintained and procedures are effectively cascaded.
  • Provide audit assistance and support internal audits, utilizing Six Sigma tools for successful closure of findings.
  • Drive safety, quality, delivery, cost, and environmental objectives within your sphere of influence.
  • Manage key scorecard metrics, associate health, and wellbeing initiatives, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts and company targets.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

Essential:

  • Demonstrated understanding of Propulsion (ICE & Electrification) Unit functionality to support investigations.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in solving complex problems and implementing countermeasures.
  • Experience in process improvement and familiarity with manufacturing/engineering processes, tools, and techniques.
